The future of CCUS
‘The main idea with CCUS is to segment direct air carbon capture from a concentrated point source such as an industrial facilities,’ explains Shields.
CCUS is currently grabbing headlines thanks to the likes of Elon Musk’s offer of a $100 million prize, as well as schemes to sequester huge amounts of captured carbon dioxide in geological rock formations. ‘But Chart sits with its twin carbon capture processes, both of which can go beyond sequestration and offer captured carbon dioxide as a usable and/or saleable asset,’ explains Shields.
