Gasunie is to sign new ten-year framework contracts with three contractors (consortiums), namely DES (Dura Vermeer/Equans), Bilfinger and Hanab. Together the contracts represent an investment volume of up to €2.5 billion, spread over a period of ten years. These contracts set out very specific agreements on the replacement, maintenance and expansion of stations and installations required for the transport of green and other types of gas, for both current and future flows. The energy transition comes with many new projects, while the maintenance of existing installations naturally also remains crucial.
The shift in focus from natural gas to new energy like hydrogen and biomethane, as well as to heat and CO2, requires a new approach to procurement and to infrastructure maintenance and development. The emphasis in all of this is on safety, social responsibility, and taking a zero-emission approach to the works.
