Uniper to Explore UK Hydrogen Salt Storage
Uniper has partnered with British Salt to explore potential UK hydrogen storage development, the company announced on LinkedIn. The Salinae Hydrogen Storage project is a potential salt cavern hydrogen storage facility, near Warmingham in Cheshire, UK. British Salt owns the mineral rights and has existing operations on the site. The two companies have recently signed a feasibility development agreement which gives Uniper the sole rights to explore the site’s potential for hydrogen storage. Along with existing gas storage, this project has the potential to play a key role in ensuring a secure and flexible energy system in the UK.
