TGE Gas Engineering has successfully air raised the roof of the 197,000 m³ ethane tank for INEOS Project ONE in Antwerp, Belgium, the company announced on LinkedIn.

The roof, fabricated and welded on the ground of the inner tank, has been lifted by the air pressure of six air blowers within three hours to its final position on top of the tank. ‘No matter how often we have performed this already in the past, it is still fascinating how air can move such a massive construction with a total weight of 900 tons and a diameter of 93 meters,’ TGE said in the post on social media. ‘We thank the whole project team for their great work and thank INEOS BELGIUM for their trust placed in us!’

Project ONE is a marquee project within the tank storage industry, being the largest petrochemical sector investment in Europe within the last 20 years. The cryogenic tank for ethane with the size of 197,000 m³ is currently the largest one in Europe. Watch the full video on LinkedIn now!
