Chief Executive of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanne, has confirmed the multi-energy company will continue to transport LNG from Russia as long as there are no European sanctions on the fuel. TotalEnergies is currently in a contract with Russia Yamal LNG for 5 million tonnes, until 2032.

While at the Energy Intelligence Forum in London, Pouyanne says: ‘We will continue to ship LNG from Russia as long as there is no sanctions, or push, from Europe on the gas, because we contribute to the security of supply for Europe. If there are sanctions we will stop immediately.’

However, he has confirmed that TotalEnergies will not be investing in any new projects in Russia.
