Glencore has taken over the processing contract for Wilhelmshaven oil refinery from Hartree as it enters into an agreement with the refinery’s owner, HES International. According to Reuters’ report, Glencore will supply feedstocks to the refinery, as well as sell its refined fuels.
The Wilhelmshaven refinery is situated at HES International’s tank terminal site. The refinery has been partly operational since 2019, when HES restarted an 87,000 bpd vacuum distillation unit that processes crude into low-sulphur marine fuels.
On its website, HES International says the Wilhelmshaven terminal ‘offer[s] 1.3 million m3 [in] storage capacity for a wide range of liquid bulk products, ranging from crude oil and clean petroleum products to LPG.’ Details on the Glencore agreement have not yet been made public.
