Poliport is an independent liquid and chemical storage terminal in Dilovası in the Kocaeli Gulf region, near Istanbul in Turkey. It was founded in 1971 with 17,000 m3 of liquid storage, and now has 272.000 m3 of liquid storage, a dry bulk and general cargo terminal and a custom bonded and non-bonded warehouse for dry bulk cargo. ‘Poliport’s main goal is to provide better service to its customers, reach a high operational efficiency level with a transparent approach and to make a difference via technological opportunities,’ says Efe Hatay, general manager of Poliport.   PRODUCTS AND FACILITIES Poliport handles 55 bulk liquid chemicals, including solvents, alcohols, fuel oil, gasoil, base oil, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI), hexamethylenediamine (HMD), glycols, and ethylene. The terminal has 178 storage tanks made from either carbon steel or stainless stell, in capacities from 200 m3 to 9,300 m3. There are floating roof tanks, epoxy-coated tanks, tanks with external heating, insulated tanks, and refrigerated tanks. Nitrogen blanketing is also available.
