LBC Tank Terminals celebrated the official opening of the third stage of its expansion project – Rainbow 3 – on Friday. Rainbow 3 adds 36 new tanks and 86,000 m3 of storage capacity to the site in Rotterdam Botlek, the Netherlands, as well as a new loading station for rail tank cars.
The next stage for the site is Rainbow 5 Phase A, which will see 14 more tanks added – meaning 42,000m3 of extra capacity – plus a second central loading station for trucks and new jetty connections.
Mathias Potvin, terminal manager at LBC Rotterdam, says the success of the project came from ‘confidence in the market, in the future of this terminal and especially in the people who would make it happen.’
