Linde Working on Heidelberg Materials Carbon Plant
Linde has been working alongside Heidelberg Materials on the CAP2U project - the world’s first large-scale carbon capture and liquefaction facility. Located at Heidelberg's cement plant in Lengfurt, Germany, the plant has hit some major milestones, Linde announced on LinkedIn. The 100-tonne absorption and 44-tonne stripper columns were successfully installed, followed by the assembly of four large CO₂ tanks, and the placement of the heat-recovery steam generator. 'Every one of these moments is a testament to the incredible teamwork that goes into a project of this magnitude,' Linde says in the post. With operations slated to begin at the end of 2025, this facility will capture and liquefy 70,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
