LOADING ARMS FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITION

Kanon’s loading arms have been proven for LNG and are being tested for hydrogen The move towards the development and usage of greener energy is part of the global initiative to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG). The energy transition will require updated equipment and new technologies. The safe transfer of energy resources is vital in securing a more sustainable future, so loading arms must be suitable for the new products. Dutch family business Kanon Loading Equipment (KLE) has been developing custom designed and built solutions for marine, road and rail liquid transfer systems for over 43 years. It is a Dutch family business based in the Netherlands with a dedicated R&D facility, additional manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and offices in the US and the UK. The company began developing solutions to handle the transfer of more unstable greener energy products, namely LNG, which is stored at -160˚C, back in 2002. An increasing number of commercial ships are adapting their engines to change their running energy to LNG, which not only reduces GHG emissions but also increases efficiency and is more cost effective than conventional fuels.
