Baniyas maritime terminal, situated on the west coast of Syria, has announced the arrival of two fuel shipments in an effort to maintain petroleum product supplies in the domestic market.
The Syrian Petroleum Company connected the two vessels – one carrying 64,324 tonnes and the other 5,620 tonnes of liquified gas – to terminal facilities, including storage tanks onsite.
According to the Syrian Arab New Agency: ‘The [Syrian] Ministry of Energy said it continues to implement maritime and land supply plans to maintain the flow of petroleum products to refineries and distribution stations and support supply stability. [It also stated] earlier this month that it had dispatched 407 gasoline shipments and 639 diesel shipments to fuel stations across Syria’s provinces, with total allocated supplies exceeding 25 million litres. The ministry added that its long-term plans include increasing production, expanding refinery capacity and rehabilitating storage facilities affected by infrastructure damage during 15 years of war.’
