Tank Storage Association posts annual review

The Tank Storage Association (TSA) has published its 2023 Annual Review of the UK’s bulk storage and energy infrastructure sector. Peter Davidson, Executive Director of the Tank Storage Association, says: 'I am pleased to launch the eighth edition of TSA’s Annual Review. The publication continues to serve as a key reference tool for the tank storage industry and beyond.' Published since 2015, the annual publication continues to provide a broad range of statistics and valuable insights on terminals, process safety, occupational health and safety as well as the industry’s contribution to the UK economy. 'In addition to valuable industry data and information, this year’s report includes an insight into the fundamental role of our sector in the energy transition and in providing the resilience and security of supply required for existing and future energy carriers. Terminals are an essential part of global infrastructure networks, ensuring that bulk liquids, from transport and heating fuels, chemicals, animal feed and foodstuffs, are supplied when they are needed in the quantities required. As industry changes and the breadth of products and services provided by terminals evolve, it stands ready to work with the government and other stakeholders to deliver on future opportunities,' continues Davidson. 'As our industry evolves, skills and workforce progression will play a central role. To that end, we have recently launched a new resource hub dedicated to careers and apprenticeships in the bulk storage and energy infrastructure industry.' The TSA has also established a Skills Committee to help encourage more people to join the sector. Key to this is making the general public aware of the opportunities available within tank storage.
