ExxonMobil PNG (EMPNG) has awarded a $200 million (€173 million) construction services contract to Wood for the Papua New Guinea (PNG) LNG Project, supporting safe, reliable and efficient LNG infrastructure in Asia.
The $19 billion (€16.5 billion) PNG LNG Project includes the Hides Gas Conditioning Plant, the Caution Bay LNG plant, around 700km of pipeline, and related well pads and flow lines. It stretches from Hela, Southern Highlands, Western and Gulf provinces to Port Moresby in Central Province. Operations at the plant began in 2014, with capacity to produce more than 8 billion tonnes of LNG annually.
