ExxonMobil has announced it is helping the industries in Louisiana’s Vermilion Parish, USA to reduce their emissions and become home to a landmark CO
2 transportation and storage project.
Exxon Mobil made the following contributions to the university:
- Two $50,000 (€46,700) endowed scholarships for first-year students from Vermilion Parish who are pursuing degrees in the university’s College of Engineering or Ray P. Authement College of Sciences.
- $500,000 (€467,000) for outreach efforts in the university’s Energy Institute of Louisiana and Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Public Policy Centre.
With these contributions, the university has reached nearly 75% of the $500 million (€467,000 million) goal for its current fundraising initiative, its largest-ever campaign.
