ABB’s SensyMaster FMT400 flowmeter earns SIL 2 certification, now offering thermal mass flow measurement for the chemicals, oil and gas, power and utilities, and industrial gas industries.
SensyMaster performs mass flow measurement of natural and industrial gases by measuring how much a heated sensor cools as gas flows past it. With the new SIL 2 certification, SensyMaster can be directly integrated into automated safety instrumented systems in process automation architecture, supporting digital plant strategies with built-in continuous self-diagnostics. This allows predictive maintenance and real-time device health monitoring, reducing reliance on manual inspections.
