Emerson releases ultrasonic flow meters for non-intrusive monitoring

Emerson has announced its new Flexim FLUXUS 631 series of portable, non-intrusive, clamp-on, ultrasonic flow meters for the measurement of liquids, gases and steams across many industries including oil and gas, chemical, power, and water and wastewater.

Portable flow meters can be deployed when permanent solutions are unavailable, eliminating measurement blind spots and helping to avoid unplanned downtime. They can also be used to verify existing flow installations.

The system offers different measuring principles combined with advanced electronics, enabling repeatable measurements across diverse media types including low-pressure gases, gas or solid content-entrained liquids, high viscosity liquids, saturated stream and high-pressure steam.

Rebecca Cottrell, product manager for Emerson’s measurement instrumentation business, comments: ‘Driving efficiency improvements requires greater visibility to all aspects of operations. With the flexibility to measure the flow of liquids, gases and steam using a portable, non-intrusive device, the FLUXUS 631 series enables more informed decisions that result in improved plant performance.’
