CB&I and AG&P Industrial have completed two 60,000m3 full containment LNG storage tanks, situated at the LNGPH Ilijan LNG Facility in the Philippines – the first large-scale onshore LNG storage facility in the country.
Unlike conventional full containment LNG tanks, which rely on reinforced concrete outer walls, CB&I uses 9% nickel steel for both the inner and outer tanks. Both tanks were constructed with zero lost-time incidents over more than 1 million work hours, with Tank 1 marking the world’s first in-service full containment all-steel LNG tank.
