On 11 September 2026, Chane Terminal Botlek, situated in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, hosted the Port of Rotterdam Authority to 'deepen the partnership' between the two organisations.
The day’s discussions centred on the evergreen subject of safety and Chane Unlocked – Chane’s future strategy, which includes renewing existing infrastructure at its terminals as well as adding storage for renewable fuels. Rick Meijboom, assistant operations manager; Henry La Rondelle, PID manager; and Jeroen Kensmil, PID technology manager, all at Chane, then led representatives from both companies on a walk around the jetties and tank pits.
Chane has five terminals at the Port of Rotterdam: Botlek, Geulhaven, Nieuwe Maas, Pernis and Welplaat. Chane Terminal Botlek focuses on chemicals, mineral oil products, acids, biofuels and base oils, and has a storage capacity of 1,623,000m3 over 270 tanks.
Fabian Ziegler, CEO of Chane, says: ‘We have five terminals in this port. That comes with responsibility, and we take it seriously.’
