Environmental technology firm Tecam has been awarded the contract for a gas emissions treatment project for a hydrocarbon tank storage company in Chile.

Tecam will provide engineering, procurement, installation and maintenance services for a regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO) to eliminate 99.9% of the tank farm’s gas venting emissions. The company has analysed the customer’s technical requirements, taking into account the air flow which required treatment and the characteristics of the emitted vapours during venting, before recommending a custom-designed RTO.

Tecam says that the contract will deepen its expertise in the tank storage sector. Its technology has prevented 100,000 tonnes of emissions in 2020.

‘We are happy to announce this new project in Latin America for another key player in the hydrocarbon tank storage sector,’ says Bernat Sala, Tecam CEO. ‘We are glad to deliver cost-effective cleantech solutions to our customers, and thus help them adapt to the strictest and most demanding environmental legislation requirements and reduce their carbon footprint.’

Tecam won the 2020 Tank Storage Award for Environmental Performance for its emissions reduction technology.
