Fluxys Belgium, Pipelink and Air Liquide are joining forces in ‘Fluxys c-grid Antwerp,’ a joint venture that will build and operate a CO2 pipeline network in the Antwerp port area (Belgium) to connect industrial players to permanent underground storage solutions. Fluxys c-grid Antwerp has been established as a subsidiary of Fluxys Belgium, which holds a majority stake alongside Pipelink and Air Liquide as minority shareholders.

With this pipeline network Fluxys c-grid Antwerp will provide an essential part of the value chain through which the captured CO2 from Antwerp’s industry and beyond can be transported to the Antwerp@C CO₂ Export Hub or other exit points on adjacent networks.

The construction of the first phase of this pipeline network has recently started and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. It is supported by the European Commission’s financing program ‘Connecting Europe Facility for Energy’ (CEF-E)and VLAIO. The further expansion will follow market demand in the coming years and is open to connect to the regional Flemish backbone and neighbouring countries.
