The HOYER Group has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal for its comprehensive commitment in the areas of sustainability and responsible corporate governance. At the same time, the global logistics provider received ISO 50001 certification for its energy management system.

The EcoVadis Gold Medal confirms the top performance of HOYER in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis conducts its assessments as a neutral body with strict criteria, using a standardised assessment model based on international sustainability standards. EcoVadis medals are awarded according to a company’s percentage ranking. With its gold medal, the HOYER Group ranks among the best five percent of all companies evaluated worldwide.

Moreover, with this ISO 50001 certification, HOYER underscores its strategic alignment to energy efficiency and continuous improvement. The certification was awarded by DQS based on ISO 50001:2018, and is considered to be the international standard for systematic energy management.

Björn Schniederkötter, CEO of the HOYER Group, says: ‘This double award sends a strong signal – both internally and externally. It shows that we don’t just talk about sustainability, we actively live it. The EcoVadis Gold Medal and ISO 50001 certification are important milestones, and demonstrate our commitment to efficient, resource-conserving behaviour. They are the results of consistent teamwork and our strategic aspiration, as a global family business, to implementing sustainability in a measurable and effective way. They confirm that we successfully combine ecological responsibility and economic efficiency, both for ourselves and for our customers.’

Commenting on the EcoVadis Gold Medal, Thies Grage, director SHEQS (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality & Sustainability) of the HOYER Group, adds: ‘This assessment officially confirms that we are in the best 5% of all the companies rated, and among the top one percent in the ‘Freight Transport by Road’ industry.’ The HOYER Group had already achieved Silver status in 2024. Compared to the previous year, the decisive factors were the increase of 22 assessment points in the Sustainable Procurement category and a further 15 points in the Environment category. According to Grage: ‘ISO 50001 certification underscores our strategic commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable corporate governance. We see it as confirmation of our continuous improvement processes.”’
