Covestro has announced on LinkedIn that its electrolysis (ELO) plant in Tarragona is now ISCC PLUS certified.

The company says: ‘This milestone enables us to deliver more sustainable attributed caustic soda via the mass balance approach to the Iberian market, supporting our customers in reducing their carbon footprint across a wide range of applications, while strengthening the stability of our European supply network.’

The post continues: ‘Combined with our world-scale oxygen depolarized cathode (ODC) technology, which already saves up to 25% electricity compared to conventional chlorine production, ISCC PLUS certification allows us to advance circularity through the mass balance approach without compromising on quality or reliability.’
