DET Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH is expanding its management team: Dr. Martin Meurers will assume the role of chief operating officer (COO) with primary responsibility for capacity marketing and ensuring the safe operation of the state-owned LNG terminals. Since 2022, Meurers has headed the Division for Policy Issues in Energy Security at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and previously held senior positions in economic and financial policy as well as posts at the Federal Chancellery and the OECD.

His appointment further strengthens DET’s contribution to a resilient and secure energy supply.

DET was founded during the 2022 energy crisis to operate the new state-owned LNG terminals and has established itself as a key instrument for securing gas supplies for Germany and its European neighbors. With his extensive experience in energy security, economic policy, and international economic relations, Meurers brings in-depth expertise to support the company’s mission.
