Tank Storage Magazine’s team touches down in Texas, USA, for the 16th annual National Aboveground Storage Tank Conference & Trade Show

Now in its 16th edition, running in December in The Woodlands, Texas, the NISTM trade show and conference is a staple in Tank Storage Magazine’s calendar. Run by the National Institute for Storage Tank Management, this year’s event was a huge success, with record- breaking attendee numbers.

Tank Storage Magazine’s team was on site at booth #115, promoting our (then, latest) North America edition – which was printed exclusively for the NISTM event. With a very UK-themed (Irish whiskey and Scottish shortbread) giveaway, the team made some fantastic connections – many of which you’ll be able to read about in upcoming features, both in print and online. And a huge congratulations to our raffle winner: Hunter Porche from J de Jonge TankX USA!

Key Highlights at NISTM Woodlands

Despite the close dates to Christmas, this year’s Woodlands conference and trade show saw an unprecedented turnout. Attendee numbers were high to both the show floor and the conference sessions, demonstrating the industry’s strong interest and engagement.

For Tank Storage Magazine, attending these shows across the world gives us a fantastic opportunity to connect with our global industry. The opportunity to reconnect with our US client base and members is one we can never pass up, and the networking breakfasts, breaks and drinks are always a treat at NISTM events. As well as some great knowledge-sharing – which Tank Storage Magazine has happily reported on in previous issues – the event provided an excellent platform for networking and showcasing cutting- edge products and services. Attendees raved about the enriching conference sessions, emphasising how beneficial and insightful they were.

Support for Women in Tanks

NISTM also facilitated a gathering of women on the show floor at lunchtime on day two. This is always such a key moment, and Tank Storage Magazine is proud to have been spearheading the Women in Tanks movement for the last six years. Many of the women in attendance will be sharing their stories with us, so watch this space for exciting stories from all aspects of the sector. From robotics and engineering to business development and energy transition strategy.

Raffle Winners

No NISTM event is complete without the giveaway! This year’s winners received some very exciting gifts – just in time for Christmas, too! The winners were:

  • First place: Jason Thorsell from Enbridge won the $2,000 Visa Gift Card
  • Second Place: Tim Bechtel from DairyLand Electrical won the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB Black Titanium with ApplCare+
  • Third Place: Marcela Asfouri from Prostar Mfg won the Bose QuiteComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones, Black
  • Fourth Place: Anna Stoddard from Power Secure, Inc. won the $150 Visa Gift Card

Keeping the Momentum Going

Where one event ends, another is always on the horizon. We’re excited to announce that Tank Storage Magazine will once again be heading to Orlando, Florida, to attend NISTM’s 26th Annual International Aboveground Storage Tank Conference & Trade Show from April 3-5, 2024.

Registration is open now for this exciting – and warmer – event, so don’t hesitate to book your place.
