Returning to Rotterdam for its ninth edition, the Global Tank Storage Awards (organised by Tank Storage Magazine) is now open for nominations.

The prestigious awards are a key event in the industry calendar, taking place the evening before StocExpo (9 March 2026). Highlighting excellence in the storage terminals industry, the awards are an opportunity to put an individual or company in the spotlight and reward them for excelling in safety, innovation, efficiency in the industry or overall storage.

With a range of categories spanning technology innovations, infrastructure success and individual excellence, the Global Tank Storage Awards are the perfect opportunity to have your project, technology, company or colleagues recognised for their excellent work in pushing the industry forward and ensuring safety, environmental consciousness, operational efficiency, and generally making the storage terminal industry a better place to work.

New for 2026

As the industry evolves, so to do the awards, and some brand new categories have been included for 2026, including:

  • Industry Collaborators honouring a partnership that has delivered an exceptional tank construction or terminal expansion project—prioritising safety and sustainability, while managing costs and timelines.
  • Future Fuels Infrastructure Project of the Year open to facilities that have introduced significant infrastructure to support future fuels in the last 12 months (ammonia, biofuels, hydrogen, etc). Safety, ESG and innovation will be considered by the judging panel, as well as overall capacity to support the energy transition.
  • Most Sustainable Facility going to a company that is keeping their scope 3 emissions in check, working towards a tangible net zero goal and can demonstrate a real commitment to sustainability.

Plus, back by popular demand, the team at the Global Tank Storage Awards have reinstated the Port of the Future award, going to a port that is demonstrating its dedication to preparing for the energy transition and/or working towards reaching net zero. It is flexible to adapt to changing market conditions and has a real focus on innovation.
