Exolum has completed a pilot project between its Bilbao and Burgos facilities – both in Spain – demonstrating that hydrogen can be transported safely and efficiently through conventional pipelines. In a similar project to the pipeline transportation experiment at Exolum’s Immingham, UK, facility, Exolum has once again shown it is an innovative company powering the energy transition.

In this pilot, Exolum transported 400,000 litres of hydrogen liquid carrier (MCH) over 192 km between the Bilbao and Burgos facilities, integrating the product into daily operations without incidents and validating its technical feasibility.

the company posted on LinkedIn: ‘This achievement highlights our company’s capacity for innovation and reinforces our commitment to a more sustainable and competitive energy model. A big thank you to all the teams involved for making this possible!’
