The European Commission wants to create new supply chains for a ‘cleaner’ economy. It wants to collaborate in alliances with private companies, associations, trade unions and national governments to develop new supply chains. One such alliance will be a Hydrogen Alliance.

In April FETSA met with the officials working on the EU Industrial Strategy and Hydrogen Partnership to explain the importance of liquid storage in any future hydrogen supply chain. The European Commission recognised the critical role of storage in any future hydrogen-based supply chain, both for storing liquefied hydrogen and for storing synthetic fuels produced from clean hydrogen and FETSA will play a role in this partnership. We expect the alliance to be launched by the Autumn.

FETSA’s role in the partnership will enable the association to influence hydrogen policy as the industry moves deeper into the energy transition.
