Avalara Tax Connector 1.0, an excise tax calculator developed by digitalisation specialist Implico and tax -software developer Avalara, is now SAP certified for integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Avalara Tax Connector 1.0 combines the tax tool AvaTax Excise with the SAP ERP system, allowing automated excise tax calculation for North American energy suppliers, distributors, retailers, and traders. T can run on a customer’s premises or in the cloud. SAP-certification confirms the tool’s technical compliance with SAP standards and qualifies it for listing in the SAP Certified Solutions Directory.

Tax calculation involves various factors such as products, blends. origins and destinations, whether the product is branded or not and gross and net volumes, as well as differing regional tax rates. In North America, for example, the federal, state and local governments regulate their own tax rates, which may change several times a year.

Avalara Tax Connector 1.0 integrates AvaTax Excise into the standard sales and purchase functions of a company’s SAP ERP system to allow tax calculation with minimal chance of error. It frees workers from manual calculations and allows quick access to all relevant information. The software automatically updates, so is always up-to-date.
