UK water energy management systems manufacturer Kingspan says that its latest generation telemetry monitoring devices can lead to ‘significant’ efficiency and profitability gains.

When a fuel oil distributor (FOD) fits a Kingspan telemetry device to tanks, its tank level data is imported directly to its software systems, such as CODAS and Fuelsoft, via an API feed. There is no need for file sending and tickets can be automatically generated. FODs can view, monitor and export tank data through Kingspan’s Connect Sensor platform, which now includes a mapping function.

Kingspan’s full suite of telemetry devices can be used for many applications, including plastic tanks, steel tanks, domestic, commercial, diesel dispenser, or a mobile bowser. They are compatible with a range of connectivities, such as 2G, 3G, NB-IoT, LoRa & SIGFOX.

‘Increasingly, our fuel distribution customers not only use the data to auto-generate orders, they are also using it to reduce delivery frequency and optimise routing. It means they’re able to significantly cut travel time and left-on-boards thanks to more accurate planning,’ says Nick Hawkins, Kingspan’s commercial director UK & Ireland. ‘We’ve been at the forefront of developments in tank and telemetry systems, working closely with our FOD partners, for many years.’

Kingspan will showcase its products at the UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association’s (UKIFDA) EXPO 2021 event, which will be held on 7–8 July 2021.
