Industrial automation company Procentec is to release a new range of total security network monitoring products to protect industrial networks from both external attacks and internal threats like simple mistakes or intentional sabotage.

Internal threats can be as dangerous and almost as common as external attacks. Procentec’s new products, designed for Profibus, Profinet and industrial ethernet systems, allow users to centrally monitor changes to devices.

The releases are designed to complement each other and most take advantage of existing hardware and software, so should be familiar to Osiris users. Two of the releases are independent of other Procentec products – a cloud-based platform and a blockchain-based platform – for which Procentec will release more details shortly.

‘Security network monitoring tends to focus on external threats. That’s entirely logical, especially in the wake of state-sponsored hacks like SolarWinds and the Microsoft Exchange Server. But we shouldn’t ignore internal security. Internal intrusions, whether intentional or not, can badly affect an organisation’s productivity, its revenue and even its employees’ physical safety. That’s why our solutions tackle both types of threats,’ says Pieter Barendrecht, CEO of Procentec.

Procentec is running a virtual spring product launch on 8 April 2021, for interested parties. Attendees will hear an interview with CTO Matthew Dulcey on IT security vs operational technology (OT) security, see the new Procentec Academy, and attend Barendrecht’s rooftop barbecue, where he will chat about the importance of security in OT.
