The online shop of SGB, a German-based, globally active manufacturer of leak prevention technology for double-walled tanks and pipes, has now been operating for one year,

The shop was redesigned and relaunched in May 2020 with its own URL, https://shop.sgb.de, and now lists around 2,000 products. The site is mobile-optimised and offers clear product presentation, with users able to navigate to the appropriate leak monitoring solution based on the tank or pipe to be monitored, or the typical area of application of the leak detector, such as a petrol station, tank farm/refinery or heating oil system. Each product listing includes short and easily understandable explanations of the technical conditions, for example the monitoring principle, container/pipe type, or monitorable liquids, as well as product photos. Registered users can order directly online, while non-registered users can easily enquire.

The home page was also much improved in the redesign. The header now includes contact options, the language selection (German/English), and a new search function with article numbers as well as keywords searchable, as well as the main and product navigation. The ‘Accessories’ and ‘Spare parts’ areas have also been greatly upgraded and revised both in terms of appearance and content for the user.

‘The efforts have paid off. The result is a comprehensive and at the same time user-friendly online shop with all our products and services with texts, images, documentation, brochures and other helpful information – a digital product catalog with many practical functions,’ says Jost Berg, managing director of SGB, adding: ‘The number of visitors, shop registrations and, for example, the number of downloaded documentations show us the importance of being available with information anytime and anywhere.’
