Evonik and Siemens have signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement in Hanau, Germany, embarking on a journey to advance autonomous chemical plants.

The two companies are now working on making chemical production more efficient, sustainable, and resilient by leveraging next-generation digital technologies. They have set out three key priorities:

  • Develop a Digital Plant Technology Stack
  • Design the organisational framework, including new roles that will complement production teams in the future
  • Identify pilot plants for concept development and feasibility assessments

Evonik said in a LinkedIn post: ‘With Siemens’ industrial automation expertise and Evonik’s operational knowhow, we aim to set important impulses for the digital transformation of the process industry and look forward to shaping the next generation of chemical production together.’
