Square Robot, Inc., a global leader in submersible robotic tank inspection, has announced the completion of a new funding and collaboration with Marathon Petroleum Corporation, a leading integrated downstream and midstream energy company operating the largest refining system in the United States.

Marathon will participate in the Series B funding round alongside several other investors. As part of this funding, Marathon will collaborate to help shape the design and development of Square Robot’s next-generation robotic platform, while continuing to deploy Square Robot’s existing fleet to conduct critical tank inspections across its nationwide network of terminals and refineries.

‘Marathon’s partnership marks a major milestone in our mission to transform industrial tank inspection,’ says David Lamont, CEO of Square Robot. ‘They recognise the proven value of our robotic inspections—eliminating confined space entry, reducing the environmental impact, and delivering major cost efficiencies all while keeping tanks on-line and working. We’re excited to work together with such a great company to expand inspection capabilities and accelerate innovation across the industry.’
