UK energy industry services firm Well Services Group (WSG) has bought 50% of Eagle Eye Integrity Specialists and launched a new division, WSG Eagle Eye Integrity Specialists.

WSG Eagle Eye Integrity Specialists will offer customer-focussed asset integrity assessments and fitness for service plant inspections, with a team certified to API and EEMUA standards that utilise conventional and advanced NDT inspection methods as well as UAV or drone services. Non-destructive testing on tanks and vessels can be carried out with the latest advanced MFL floor scanners and robotic tank crawlers to scan through plates and coatings on tank floors, tank shells and roofs. Combining the data from NDT inspections with internal and external UAV inspections allows for swift data acquisition and high-quality condition reports.

For pipelines, in addition to the digital and thermal inspection data provided by UAV’s, WSG Eagle Eye can carry out Long Range Ultrasonic Testing, which can assess the wall loss on pipelines over an area of 50 m and follow up with corrosion mapping to gather quantitative data. Corrosion under pipe supports can also be assessed. Reporting will also be able to utilise WSG’s proprietary Asset Integrity Management software as well as the breadth of experience of Eagle Eye personnel.

‘After working closely with Well Services Group on several joint ventures in the North East [of England] and Yorkshire it quickly became apparent that our service offerings complemented each other. Our collaboration with WSG, and their engineering excellence, will further support projects with large-scale scopes in the industry,’ says Eagle Eye managing director, Scott Standing.

Gareth Turner, Director of WSG’s Global Process, Pipeline and Industrial Services division adds: ‘These inspection services are a perfect addition to the existing WSG Service Portfolio and will contribute to our goal of becoming the number one specialist service provider to the UK’s energy and tank storage sectors. We look forward to supporting our clients with these additional solutions and we are pleased to welcome Scott and his team from Eagle Eye to WSG.’
