EET Hydrogen and ENKA İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. have officially commenced ground investigation works at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port — the home of the UK’s first large-scale low carbon hydrogen production plant, HPP1.

In a post on LinkedIn, EET Hydrogen announced that the work is located at the heart of the HyNet industrial decarbonisation cluster, HPP1 will have a production capacity of 350MW of low carbon hydrogen, capturing 600,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually – the equivalent of taking 250,000 cars off the roads.

It will enable the decarbonisation of the EET Group and other vital industrial businesses across the North West, while supporting the UK’s ambition to become a global leader in clean energy.
