Engro Vopak Terminal achieves safety milestone

Engro Vopak Terminal located in Pakistan has achieved a safety milestone of 2 years free from reportable incidents.

This milestone means that no one has been seriously injured while working at the terminal in the past 2 years, and there have also been no risky spills.

Vopak comments: ‘Safety is our highest priority, we strive to ensure that everyone can return home safely at the end of each working day.’

Engro Vopak is a joint venture with Royal Vopak of the Netherlands – the world’s largest bulk liquid chemical handling company. The business handles, stores and carries out regasification of liquid and gaseous chemicals, liquefied petroleum gas, petrochemicals and bio-fuels.

Engro Vopak’s terminal is Pakistan’s first cryogenic facility that handles 70% of all liquid chemical imports into Pakistan including paraxylene, acetic acid, vinyl chloride monomer, ethylene dichloride, mono ethylene glycol, ethylene along with phosphoric acid imports, which are pumped directly to customer’s facilities.
