North Sea operator EnQuest has acquired Harbour Energy’s offshore oil and gas operations in Vietnam. The deal covers Harbour’s 53.125% equity interest and operation of the Chim Sáo and Dua production fields, with a headline transaction value of $85.1 million (€73.2 million).

The deal is another key step in delivering EnQuest’s strategic aim to expand its operating footprint across South East Asia, with both fields holding net 2P reserves of around 7.5 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), and 2C resources of around 4.9m boe.

EnQuest chief executive Amjad Bseisu comments: ‘We are impressed with the talent and attitude displayed by our new colleagues as we welcome the Vietnam asset team into the group, and we are committed to working with our partners, Bitexco and PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation Ltd, to explore future value-accretive opportunities within the fields.’
