Exolum to develop new CO₂ storage terminal in the UK

Exolum has entered into a formal agreement with Severnside Carbon to progress the development of a new CO₂ storage terminal at Avonmouth, within the Port of Bristol.
The facility will provide dedicated capacity for the safe reception, handling and temporary storage of liquefied CO₂ captured from industrial emitters across the region.
The project is designed to play a central role in the UK’s emerging carbon‑capture and utilisation network by creating a reliable logistics hub that can support onward transport to permanent sequestration sites.
Exolum’s expertise in liquid‑product storage and terminal operations positions the company to deliver the high‑integrity infrastructure required for managing CO₂ at scale.
By strengthening the country’s carbon‑management capabilities, the Avonmouth terminal is expected to contribute to wider decarbonisation goals, offering industries a practical route to reduce emissions while supporting the growth of low‑carbon supply chains.
