A fire broke out on 7 July at the state-owned oil company Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) Nohoch Alfa offshore platform at the Bay of Campeche, in the Gulf of Mexico.

Fire boats spray water onto platform.Out of the 328 workers were working, 321 were evacuated with the support of seven boats. It has been reported that five people were injured, with two being critical, two fatalities and one person is still missing.
