Sir Jim Ratcliffe welcomed Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever to INEOS’ €4 billion Project ONE site in Antwerp – Europe’s largest chemical investment in a generation. With over 2,500 workers on site and commissioning set to begin this Autumn, the project is transforming the industrial landscape.

INEOS posted the announcement on LinkedIn, with comments from the PM. De Wever says: ‘The progress on INEOS Project ONE is highly impressive… What we see here is how investment in new technology is dramatically reducing CO₂ emissions and ensuring our prosperity for the future.’

Sir Jim Ratcliffe adds: ‘Project ONE is the first new cracker in Europe in a generation – and that’s the problem…We need urgent political will and industrial ambition, or we’ll watch Europe’s chemical industry vanish.’
