Yesterday, an explosion at the New American Oil Refinery in Neuquen, Argentina caused a fire. Three workers died while fire fighters worked to control the fire. The mayor of Plaza Huincul, Gustavo Suarez, says they tried to control the fire immediately so it did not spread to other adjoining tanks.

The Petroleum union declared a strike after the accident. Reports are still unsure of how the fire started.
