StocExpo, the world-leading tank storage and future fuels event, will, for the first time, host two simultaneous conference streams over three days when it returns to the Rotterdam Ahoy on 14-16 March 2023.

With an impressive 60 speakers in the line-up, this year’s programme is produced in partnership with the Federation of European Tank Storage Associations (FETSA).

Day one of the FETSA Tank Storage Conference focuses on security of energy supply and includes presentations on the impact of the Russia/Ukraine war on supply routes, how carbon capture and storage fits into the tank storage business model and the growth of LNG storage infrastructure to ensure security of supply.

Speakers include Oil Market Analyst, Maurits Kreijkes, along with Nico de Meester, External relations manager at Porthos and Stefaan Adriaens, Commercial Manager at Gate Terminal.

Day two looks at how the terminal sector is evolving with the energy transition, covering building import terminals for ammonia, the growth of e-fuels, importing and storing hydrogen and the energy transition from an Iberian perspective.

Key speakers include Egbert Vrijen, Project Director at ACE Terminal, Lee Hodder, Chief Sustainability Officer for Galp, Bart van der Meer, Business Development Manager at H2A, and Bruno Hayem, Rubis Terminal’s CEO.

Day three of the FETSA Tank Storage conference stream will be made up of talks on preparing terminals against cyber threats, an in-depth look at digital transformation at Shell Energy & Chemical Park, and a talk on how I-IOT can save costs and CO2 emissions.

Speakers on the last day include, Hans Geurts, VTTI’S global IT Director, Gerco ver den Brink, Digital Transformation Lead at Shell, and Robert Bakelaar, IoT Solution Architect at Vopak.

On the other side of the exhibition, the all-new Terminal Operations & Safety conference includes a panel discussion on safety best practices, an update on the transition to fluorine free foams and covers the challenges of transforming LNG tanks to ammonia tanks. Key sessions also include improving behavioural safety at the terminal, lessons learnt from incidents and challenges arising from Dutch explosion safety regulations. Speakers include Carla Manion, global SHE Manager at Vopak, Ghislaine Burink, Director of CR8 Safety and Peter Savage, HSC Manager at HG Storage.

The event’s Portfolio Director, Margaret Dunn, says: ‘The conference covers all the critical topics impacting the terminal sector today, including safety best practices, changes to regulations, the energy transition and the digital transformation. The sector is rapidly evolving so we’ve decided to double up our conference to appeal to everyone from terminal operators, to HSE directors to asset managers. There are multiple networking opportunities throughout the event so we can encourage attendees to participate in what promises to be an exciting and interactive event.’
