Earlier this month, an impressive 3,796 storage terminal professionals gathered in Rotterdam for this year’s hugely successful StocExpo. With two conference streams, a terminal tour, a new innovation & sustainability trail and much more, this year’s event was packed full of new features.

Terminal operators, traders, oil & gas companies, ports and renewable fuel producers came from over 70 countries to visit the show over the course of three days.

‘StocExpo was a great opportunity to network and learn about new technologies in the tank storage sector. I really enjoyed the panel discussions in the FETSA Tank Storage conference and the Gala Dinner at the Global Tank Storage Awards – it was great to see so many terminal professionals together in one place.’ – Frans Jan Hellenthal, Commercial Manager, VTTI.

As the largest international event for the tank storage and future fuels industry, StocExpo featured 150 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies to support and maintain the tank storage sector. Among the highlights were the Sprint Robotics’ pavilion, two hydrogen-powered cars on the show floor and multiple other technologies aimed at helping the storage sector improve safety and prepare for the energy transition.

‘We’ve loved the atmosphere at StocExpo and the sense of community, which we’ve missed over the COVID period. It’s been great to connect with customers and colleagues from a range of different countries across the globe. We’ve definitely seen more success compared to years before, and it’s been a fantastic way for us to bring knowledge directly to potential customers, with a phenomenal conversion rate!’ – Peter Lorenz, Product Manager, Emerson.

The Global Tank Storage Awards ceremony was held on the second evening of the event highlighting winners in a range of categories relating to safety, sustainability and innovation. Among the winners were Odfjell Terminals Korea (OTK), Advario and Circor.

After such a successful event, nearly 70% of the companies exhibiting at this year’s event have already re-booked for next year’s edition on 12-14 March 2024 in Rotterdam.
