Tepsa Tarragona has officially launched Tank Pit 9, adding 21,000 m³ of new capacity and bringing the terminal’s total to 128,000 m³.

In a post on LinkedIn, the company said: ‘Over just six years, Tarragona has doubled its capacity, making it one of our fastest-growing terminals…and the journey isn’t over yet! A second expansion phase is already underway, aiming for 150,000 m³.’

With its storage capacity fully contracted for chemicals, Tarragona is cementing its role as a key hub for bulk liquid logistics. Tank Pit 9 introduces new jetty connections and a 300m piperack. These presented some real engineering challenges that the team solved brilliantly.

This growth ties directly into the company’s commitment to sustainable operations. Through Tepsa’s 2030 Sustainability Roadmap, over the last three years, it has invested €21 million into upgrading our facilities, improving processes, and enhancing safety while reducing its environmental footprint.

From digitalised, paperless processes to real-time customer information, service excellence is at the heart of Tarragona’s operations. This development confirms its position as a strategic, high-performing terminal, ready to meet current and future market demands.
