VTTI have welcomed senator Tekke Panman (BBB) to VTTI’s terminal in Rotterdam (ETT), together with VOTOB, the Dutch association of tank storage companies.
In a post on LinkedIn, VTTI says: ‘We engaged in a productive and open dialogue about the key role of independent tank storage in the Dutch and European energy systems – supporting both today’s energy needs and the transition to cleaner alternatives like hydrogen.’
Jaap K, senior vice president Netherlands at VTTI, comments: ‘It’s encouraging to see open dialogue with policymakers on the practical steps needed to accelerate hydrogen adoption. Projects like Amplifhy can only succeed with strong cooperation across industry, government, and Europe. We’re committed to helping drive the energy transition in Rotterdam and beyond.’
The company added that highlights of the visit included the in-depth discussion on Project Amplifhy, the planned hydrogen import terminal based on ammonia import and cracking. VTTI exchanged views on key enablers for moving this vital project forward, including timely implementation of RED III in national legislation, development of hydrogen infrastructure in Rotterdam and connections to neighbouring countries via the Delta Rhine Corridor. They also discussed the importance of imports in reaching renewable hydrogen and CO₂ reduction goals.
