Elengy invests €220 million in ULYSSE LNG project

Elengy has launched construction on its €220 million programme to modernise and ensure the long-term future of its Montoir-de-Bretagne LNG terminal, located at Nantes Saint-Nazaire port, France. The project – named ULYSSE – will cut direct regasification CO2 emissions by 80%, equating to more than 30,000 tonnes of annual CO2 emissions.

ULYSSE entered implementation phase in 2026 after approval from the French Energy Regulatory Commission. As part of the project, the terminal’s regasification facilities will be modernised and refurbished, including the replacement of existing combustion-based regasification equipment with two new units. Other terminal infrastructure will also be upgraded.

Géraldine Brissiaud, CEO of Elengy, says: ‘With ULYSSE, we are making a major investment in the future of Montoir. It reflects our confidence in the terminal, its teams and the strategic role it plays for France. The project will enable us to combine security of supply, industrial excellence and an ambitious reduction in our CO2 emissions, supporting both the local area and the energy transition.’
