It also says most of the oil leak has been contained using booms and pads. 'Some oil is currently visible along a 5km (3.1 miles) stretch of the River Stour and near Canterbury city centre,' it says.
A spokesman for the EA says: 'Our officers are continuing to work with the onsite contractors and investigate evidence of harm to the environment. We have received reports of one dead bird and one dead fish. We ask that the public continue to report sightings of oil on the river.'
