The US Navy has awarded ten construction firms a combined total of $997 million (€854 million) to build and refurbish fuel infrastructure at Navy and Marine Corps bases globally.
The refurbishment contract is handled by the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC), with funding covering the costs of construction, maintenance, repair and engineering services for infrastructure including fuel pipes, storage tanks and related operating equipment. Work is expected to last until August 2031.
Defence Blog reports: ‘The ten companies are Aptim Federal Services LLC of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Bristol Engineering Services Co. LLC of Anchorage, Alaska; CMS Corp of Bargersville, Indiana; Dawson Technical Inc of San Antonio, Texas; Environmental Chemical Corp of Burlingame, California; Pacific Design Builders LLC of Tamuning, Guam; PCI Bhate JV LLC of Atmore, Alabama; Tepa & Pond Constructors JV of Kansas City, Missouri; Weston Solutions Inc of West Chester, Pennsylvania; and WSP USA Government Solutions Inc of New York, New York. Five of the ten awardees are designated small businesses under the award notice … the award falls under NAVFAC EXWC’s Global Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants programme, which manages fuel-handling infrastructure at Navy and Marine Corps sites worldwide.’
