Aager has obtained the ASME U2 certificate, authorising the company to design, fabricate, and test pressure vessels in compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 2.

This achievement represents a strategic expansion of Aager’s engineering capabilities, allowing the company to support more demanding applications with higher safety and performance expectations.
Previously, with the ASME U certification, Aager were authorised to work under ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1, a widely accepted standard for many industrial pressure vessel applications. However, as global industries evolve and operational environments become more complex, the demand for advanced design solutions has significantly increased.

ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2 introduces a design-by-analysis approach, which requires more rigorous stress and fatigue analysis and advanced material characterisation. Additionally, finite element analysis (FEA), and optimised safety factors.

These enhanced methodologies allow for both more efficient designs and greater safety, particularly in critical operations such as high-pressure gas storage, refinery process systems, and offshore applications.

With Aager’s new U2 certification, the company are positioned to participate in high-integrity, high-specification global projects, and are able to meet the engineering requirements of leading EPC contractors and end users. This also means that they offer technically advanced, code-compliant solutions for the most challenging conditions.
