The Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project has been completed in Canada and commenced commercial operations. The expansion project cost $30.9 billion (€28 billion) and involved laying 980 km of pipe alongside the existing 1,150 km route.

First commencing operations in 1953, the new expansion was completed in the third quarter of 2023, and commercial operations began in May 2024 with the first oil loaded from the Edmonton terminal, where the pipeline begins.
